Pediatric oncologists work closely with hematologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, endocrinologists, and other oncology specialists, including Dr. Radheshyam Naik, to ensure every child receives personalized, evidence-based cancer care with the most appropriate treatment approach. Children diagnosed with blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma may also benefit from specialized Bone Marrow Transplant services when clinically indicated.
Types of Childhood cancers are:
- Leukemia – cancer of the tissues of the body that make the blood cells and the bone marrow
- Lymphoma – cancer which arises in the lymph system
- Brain Tumors – Tumors of the brain and spinal cord are the most common types of solid tumors in children
- Bone Cancers– Bone cancer in children occurs most often during adolescence
- Neuroblastoma – Found only in children, neuroblastoma arises in the adrenal glands, located in the abdominal area
- Wilms Tumor – This rapidly-developing tumor of the kidney most often appears in children
- Retinoblastoma – A malignant eye tumor which occurs in young children and shows a hereditary pattern
